The difference is that Izetbegovic never tried to implement his foolish visions. Milosevic, who had no vision apart from staying in power, allowed and encouraged mass murder.

Bojan, from his name, is presumably from the region, and so has an excuse of sides for taking part in an ethnic cat fight, but why the American Left who mostly couldn't tell a Slovene from a Slovak should regard Milosevic as a litmus test for political purity is a mystery. This week two Bosnian commanders were found guilty and sentenced for war crimes, and I heard none of the would-be Left shouting victors' justice. They probably are not even aware that it happened, or if they are, choose to ignore them.

By the way.. Anonymous postings on this Blog are always rejected. People who peddle bile should have the courage to stand up and be counted.

IanDeadline Pundithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12918842534306990045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19421292.post-1143052795837898952006-03-22T13:39:00.000-05:002006-03-22T13:39:00.000-05:00Excellent piece, Ian. I don't know if you've looked at the comments Alternet, but they are disturbing examples of the revisionism about the Balkans that are prevalent on the Left. It's one thing to oppose the war in Kosovo (which I disagree with, but fully respect), it's another thing to say that Izetbegoic was an Islamic fundamentalist, or that the Croats had it coming because of what the Ustashe did during World War II, or that there was really no massacre of Bosnians at Srebrenica.Peter Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16487445526366418524noreply@blogger.com
